he 15th Annual Pinning Ceremony for 4th-year Teacher Education Program (TEP) students was successfully held at Tanghalang MeycauayeΓ±o of the Meycauayan City Hall, on December 13, 2024. With the theme “Igniting Change through Involvement: Empowering Future Educators,” the event celebrated a significant milestone, honoring both graduating and incoming students as they take the next step toward their careers in education.
The proceedings began with a prayer led by Roilan Jasmin, followed by the singing of the Philippine National Anthem and the Meycauayan City Hymn. The College Dean and Acting College Administrator, Dr. Reneliza C. Sta. Ana, extended her congratulations and encouragement to the graduating fourth-year students, setting a positive tone for the day. This was followed by an inspirational address from Mayor Henry R. Villarica, which further uplifted the students’ spirits.
A key highlight was the symbolic passing of the torch, book, key of responsibilities, basket of apples, pencil and paper, and the program logoβa tradition symbolizing the transfer of knowledge and responsibilities to the next generation of educators. Participating students included NiΓ±a Sarah Conquilla and Jericho Dela Rosa (torch); Catlyn Bon and John Carvin Bautista (book); Jhona Cayacay and Ma. Loraine Duras (key); Yen Luis AΓ±o and Shane Duque (basket of apples); Alyanna Rohi Puntilar and Shania Jean Justo (pencil and paper); and Nidja Batin and Kenneth Jamina (logo).
Following this moving tradition, Dr. Cecille C. Arciaga, the guest speaker and an alumna of the institution, delivered an uplifting address, offering encouragement and advice to the soon-to-be teachers. After her inspiring speech, Dr. Arciaga received an award presented by Dean Sta. Ana and Professor Frederick L. Berboso, the TEP Head. Adding a personal touch, Mrs. Mary Grace Amorin, the parent of a graduating student, shared a heartfelt message of support and pride. This was followed by the official oath-taking, led by Rhia Joyce Rulloda, and the deeply emotional pinning ceremony itselfβa moment shared between students and their families.
Professor Berboso then delivered inspiring closing remarks, offering words of wisdom and well wishes as the students embark on their teaching careers. A video montage showcasing the fourth-year students’ journey concluded the ceremonyβa fitting tribute to their hard work and dedication. The event was a resounding success, leaving all in attendance inspired and hopeful for the future of education.
