The 20th Founding Anniversary of the Polytechnic College of the City of Meycauayan (PCCM) commenced seamlessly with a bang on November 13, 2023, with a successful opening assembly at the Meycauayan Sports Complex. Ms. Tracy Zyza D. Leopoldo-Casipit and Mr. Joshua Alaba hosted the event, introducing the festivities and generating excitement that hyped up the crowd for this momentous celebration.
Amidst a blaze of torches, the event unfurled, with Joshua Alaba (NSTP Head), John Mark Nazareno of the Office Administration Program (OAP), Raymond De Guzman from the Teacher Education Program (TEP), and John Lawrence Milan of the Hospitality Management Program (HMP) leading the way. The PCCM Officer-In-Charge and College Dean, Dr. Reneliza C. Sta. Ana, set the tone with her electrifying welcome remarks, brimming with fervor and enthusiasm. The festivities were further fueled by a special message from Atty. Henry R. Villarica, City Mayor and Chairman of the Board of Trustees, graced the occasion with his heartfelt greetings. The flags of each program were presented by esteemed heads: Mr. Frederick L. Berboso, TEP Head; Prof. Rose Kathleen G. Delos Santos, OAP Head; Prof. Maria Sheryl O. Decilio, HMP Head; and Prof. Reina G. Javillonar, TESDA-TVET Head. The host committees and societies of various college organizations were also duly acknowledged, adding to the magic of this momentous gathering.
The field pulsates with fervor as players, muses, and candidates parade their jerseys, teams, and programs. A pledge of sportsmanship, led by the esteemed FLAMES President, Mr. Justine Edisan Reynoso, kindles the flames of passion. Dr. Ma. Paz G. Contreras, Director of the Office of Student Affairs (OSA) and SSASD Head, delivers her closing remarks, further stoking the fires of inspiration. The Sangguniang Panglungsod of Meycauayan, led by Vice Mayor Josefina Violago, City Councilors Atty. Lara Abracero, Cocoy Dulalia, Catherine Abacan, and the honorable Cong. Linabelle Ruth R. Villarica graces the occasion, showing support and sharing inspiring words for the institution’s milestone and its City Scholars.
The grand spectacle unfurled with a burst of energy as Professional Style (P-Style) showcased their Zumba Dance, sending tremors through the earth with their electrifying moves and enchanting surprises. The audience erupted in an uproar of cheers as each section, representing various programs, took the stage with their advisers for the PCCM Dance Showdown, displaying their dynamic skills in the art of dance. In the first half of the performances, esteemed City Councilor Katherine Hernandez graced the stage, extending her warm wishes and congratulations for PCCM’s 20th anniversary. With a heart for public service, she shared her journey of advocating for the health of the Meycauayan community and supporting students in their aspirations. As the contest continued, the atmosphere brimmed with joyous moments for all PCCMians to cherish. With the support of our local government, PCCM administrators, college organizations, and both teaching and non-teaching personnel, the opening assembly sparkled with triumph and camaraderie as the PCCM community gathered in harmony to commemorate our 20th founding Anniversary.
