COURSE DESCRIPTION

In accordance with Republic Act 9163, which mandates the establishment of the National Service Training Program (NSTP) for 1st-year tertiary level students, the Polytechnic College of the City of Meycauayan (PCCM) integrates the Civic Welfare Training Service (CWTS) component into its curriculum to promote civic consciousness, nationalism, and active involvement in public and civic affairs among its diverse student body.

The CWTS component of NSTP is meticulously designed to facilitate the holistic development of students across all academic programs offered at PCCM, including the Bachelor of Secondary Education, Bachelor of Science in Hospitality Management, and Bachelor of Science in Office Administration. Through a comprehensive blend of theoretical instruction and practical engagement, CWTS equips students from various disciplines with essential skills and values necessary for effective participation in community service and nation-building.

Guided by the 2001 NSTP Implementing Rules and Regulations (IRR), the CWTS component at PCCM aims to instill a sense of responsibility, leadership, and ethical service among participants from diverse academic backgrounds. It provides students with diverse opportunities to actively engage in community-based initiatives, outreach programs, and social welfare projects, thereby fostering a deeper understanding of societal issues and promoting collaborative efforts towards positive change.
